Day 1  …. /Lima

Arrival to Lima Airport then transfer to the hotel by a representative of Mundi Tours.  


Day 2  … / Lima                                            

Breakfast. At 9:00 am a bus will be waiting to have a City Tour to visit the historical center of the “City of Kings” founded in 1535. A tour of the Government Palace and the Cathedral, both buildings located around the Plaza Mayor (Main Square), which has splendid colonial balconies. The remarkable San Francisco Convent is part of the program. Then, the modernity expressed in San Isidro and Miraflores, with dazzling parks and shining buildings facing the Pacific Ocean. Accommodation.

Day 3  Lima / Arequipa,                                                                                                                               

Breakfast. Transport to the airport, Flight to Arequipa, 2,363 above the sea level and surrounded by imposing volcanoes. Transport to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit to the city, one of the better conserved cities of Peru, including the Santa Catalina Convent, which dates from the XVI century and is a real Colony jewel.

Day 4  Arequipa / Puno                                                                                                           

Breakfast. Transport to the bus station to go from Arequipa to Juliaca, the trip lasts 5 hours in the middle of the overwhelming landscape of the High Andes. Arrival to the Juliaca station and meeting with the guide to visit the famous Sillustani funeral towers. The Umayo Lake, on the archaeological site, contributes with its beauty to a most beautiful landscape. Next is the city of Puno, locates at 3810 meters above the sea level, with a strong Indian presence, especially of the Aymara ethnic group. Transport to the hotel.

Day 5  Titicaca Lake                                                                                               

Breakfast. Full-day excursion to the Titicaca, the sacred lake of the Incas, which water laps the city of Puno. Visit to the peculiar floating islands of the Uros natives, which base their living on the use of totora reed. Then, a visit to Taquile, an island with wonderful shapes and colors in the heart of the Titicaca Lake. The steel blue of the lake contrasts with the green fields and the red flowers of the cantuta (Inca magic flower), and on the horizon the majestic Royal Range of Bolivia is noticed. Locals of Taquile are expert weavers.

Day 6  Puno / Cusco

Breakfast. In the morning, transport to the bus station to visit the city of Cusco. The road itself is interesting, with vast golden straw fields. Then the entry to the basin of the Vilcanota River, the main artery of the Incas. Quaint towns such as Pucara, Tinta (home of the well-known Tupac Amaru) and Urcos are on the route. Arrival to Cusco, archaeological capital of America and start point to visit Machu Picchu. Transport to the hotel.

Day 7  Cusco   

Breakfast. Free morning in this magical city, 3400 meters above sea level. During the afternoon, a tour around Plaza de Armas (Arms Square), one of the most beautiful squares in the world with no doubt. The architectonic compatibility among the Spanish Colonial and the Inca is just exquisite as the Dominican temple of Santo Domingo proofs it, erected on perfect Inca walls that were part of the Koricancha or Temple of the Sun. Then a visit to the principal Inca places: Sacsayhuaman (prodigious fortress), Qenko (oracle, sacred place) and Tambomachay (Inca baths).

Day 8  Machu Picchu                   

Breakfast. Start by train in Cusco to visit “the lost city of the Incas”. Discovered in 1911 by the historian Hiram Bingham that was carried to the place by Pablo Alvarez, an 11-year-old child who received 30 cents of dollar as tip. Recently declared as one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is definitely a place to visit before passing away. Lunch in a restaurant of the Aguas Calientes town. At the end of the day, return to Cusco by train. Transport to the hotel.

Day 9  Sacred Valley

Breakfast. Full-day excursion to visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a place of incomparable beauty. It starts in Pisac, gorgeous town with stone roads and wood-fired ovens. In the higher part of the town there are high-level Inca platforms and constructions that can be observed. This town is known for its craftwork market, where elaborate blankets, alpaca garments and a variety of handicrafts can be found. Rural lunch under the smell of corn coming from the valley. The charming small town of Ollantaytambo marks an invisible final point of the Sacred Valley. With a mild weather, 2750 above the sea level, in Ollantaytambo you can walk by one of its roads and for a moment believe that the past has returned. That is how strong the Inca presence is. In the higher part of the town there is a fabulous temple and military fortress at the same time. Return to Cusco.

Day 10  Cusco / Lima

Breakfast. Transport to the airport and departure to Lima.
