Cuba enters to the New Normal Phase today
Havana goes to Phase 3 and only Ciego de Ávila and Sancti Spíritus continue in the phase of limited autochthonous transmission.
These last weeks the island has been having very good figures and the impact of the pandemic is declining, which makes us fill with joy because soon, very soon, we will travel as before.
Thus, Cuba will enter the phase of new normality from today October 12, with the exception of the provinces of Havana, Ciego de Ávila and Sancti Spíritus, and will give the green light for the reopening of international traffic in most of the country's airports .
Ciego de Ávila and Sancti Spíritus will continue in the phase of "limited autochthonous transmission" of the pandemic, which implies that some restrictions will be maintained, while Havana, will go to phase 3 of recovery, although with "some adjustments", as Havana will not begin receiving international flights, until the coming days.
The airports that will be able to receive international flights from today Monday, belong to the provinces of Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos, Camagüey, Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo.
The information also released by CACSA, the highest body of Cuban aviation, also refers to the border requirements and protocols:
- Strict surveillance will be maintained at borders and airports, ports and marinas, where the protocols created before the arrival of foreign travelers will continue to be implemented.
- All travelers arriving in the country must submit a Traveler's Declaration of Health, as a sworn statement on their state of health, or complete it upon arrival.
- 100% of travelers will undergo real-time PCR.
- Travelers will go to their hotels or houses and there they will be supervised by the Health System, maintaining epidemiological surveillance in each place they stay.
In the new normality, the use of masks in closed and / or crowded spaces will be mandatory. We will continue to inform. We hope to continue giving you more good news soon.
